Silvia Maggi
Biography
Silvia Maggi studied sociology at the University of Urbino (Italy) and Audio-Visual Journalism in Bilbao (Spain). She currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany. At the centre of her work, the human, in all their political affections, seeing life as the most powerful political act, Silvia Maggi explores human feelings and behaviours in relation to social and political needs. She directed the documentaries Erase una vez el miedo, Spain 2003, mentioned at the Malaga documentary festival, and Welcome Home, Italy/Germany 2013, screened in more than fifty festivals and conferences, including Royal Accademy University (London,UK) Florence Queer Festival (Florence, Italy), Universidad OMinho (Lisboa, PT), Festival del cinema Italiano in Milan (cineteca Oberdan, Milan, Italy), Festival del cinema italiano (Rovinj, Coratia). As videoartist she collaborated and screened her works in different festivals as Queer MIX Festival (New York, USA), Yermilov gallery (Kahrkov,Ukrain), Guggenheim Foundation (Berlin, Germany).
