WINDEMI, a 29-year-old man, has left his village to reach the gold mine near the village of Tougou, in the northern region of Burkina Faso, knows the risks of going down to 60 meters deep, in holes dug with completely rudimentary techniques.
Many miners have died due to soil erosion under landslides, others have suffered serious damage using mercury to split gold, only now knows the impact it can have on him and the environment.
Always look for gold, try to keep his family, wait every day to find a good vein that will change his life, a vein that perhaps will never come. He does not want to be a gold prospector for life, he is also a musician and he hopes to produce his music thanks to this work with which he risks his life every day.
